DLTC KADAPA





The Government DLTC / ITI, KADAPA, is located in headquarters of Kadapa Dist Andhra Pradesh. It is on the ITI Circle, Kagitala penta and is heart of the town.

Objectives:
1.To ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the industry.
2.To raise quality and quantity of industrial productin by systamatic training workers.
3. To reduce unemployment away the educated youth by equiping them for suitable industrial employment

History:
The Govt. DLTC/ITI., Kadapa was established in the year 1967 , and Admissions for August – 1967 session were also made. At the beginning 80 seats were transferred from Govt. I.T.I. Ananthapur to this Institute. Different trades are being introduced from time to time and thus the present stage increased.

All the units of this Institute are affiliated permanently by the Directorate general of Employment and Training, New Delhi.


Workshops : The Existing workshops are accommodated with Non – CoE trades and for CoE (Electrical sector) new buildings were constructed but not handed over by R&B authorities due to lack of Power Wiring.

Staff : Suitable and efficient staff are working at this institute for giving training.

Center of Excellence (CoE):

Objective of the Institute : The objective is to upgrade the existing ITI’s into center of Excellence (CoE) for producing multi skilled workforce of world global standard by

a.) Introducing new multi-skilling modular courses as per needs of Industry.

b.) Improving Physical infrastructure facilities like buildings , Equipment …..etc.

c.) Adopting new training technology with close involvement of Industry and other stake
holders planning and implementation of Training Programmes.

d.) Empowering these centers by providing sufficient autonomy in academic ,
Administrative , Financial and Management dimensions.

e.) Building up partnership with nearly industries & setting up of Institute Management Committees (IMC) to make training wholly demand driven . This CoE has been implemented in this Institute in the “Electrical Sector” during the year 2006. The duration of the Course should be in 6 Modules called as “Broad Based Basic Training” (BBBT). With in this period the trainee should learn the Basic skills in different types like 1.) Basic Engg. Skills 2.) Basic Electrical Engg.. 3.) Basic Electronics 4.) Basic Wiring & Winding.
5.) Basic Power generation , Transmission and Distribution 6.) Basic Computer Operating skills & its Application along with Workshop calculation , Engineering Drawing , Entrepreneurship and Communication skills have also to be learnt in the 1st year.

And in the 2nd year the first 6 months should be of Advanced Modules i.e Specialization in the Electrical sector , The specialized courses implemented in this institute are 1.) Repair and Maintenance of Domestic Appliances.
2.) Operation and Maintenance of Equipments used in HT & LT substation and Cabling.

3.) Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Machine and Power Supply.

Examinations : After completion of 1st year , the DGE&T is going to conduct AITT Examinations in BBBT & in the 2nd year after completion of 1st 6 months the DGE&T will conduct AITT examination in Specialized modules under NCVT pattern. And during the last 6 months the trainee should be sent to Public/ Private sector industries for practical experience with MoU.

Certificate : After Successful completion of the course , the Trainees would be awarded certificate of Graduate in the trade of Electrical sector & Specialized in Specific Advanced modules under CoE (Center of Excellence) in NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training )pattern given by DGE&T (Director General of Employment & Training ) ,
New Delhi , Govt. of India.

Civil Works:
CoE Buildings:
Construction of 5 workshop sheds and 3 classrooms was completed by the R&B authorities, Kadapa. Power wiring to be completed. The R&B authorities informed that after releasing of remaining amount of Rs. 4,16,375- power wiring work will be completed. After completion of power wiring CoE buildings will be taken over from R&B authorities.


Employment opportunity through CoE:

62 Trainees were completed CoE (Electrical Sector) in the session 2006-08. Out of them 35 trainees are working in various sectors.


MODULAR EMPLOYABLE SKILLS (MES):

This Intitute is conducting Short-Term courses under MES programme. 21 Trainees were trained in “ Basic Electrical Training” and assessment conducted on 10.07.2008. 17 candidates were passed and the certificates also issued.
SHORT TERM COURSES:
From 24.11.2008 conducting Short-Term course “ House Wiring”.
19 Trainees are undergoing training.
